DATA COLLECTION FOR PURCHASES has a SHOP page that connects directly to where we have an on-line store. All sales transactions are handled through Etsy’s shopping cart system. Your data is stored through Etsy’s data storage, databases and the general Etsy application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. Etsy collects the necessary payment information to process your transaction. If you choose the PayPal payment option, accesses your financial information. The Laughing Cabin is unable to view or access your financial information through Etsy or through PayPal. Etsy provides us with your name and address for shipping purposes and for customer contact purposes as related to your purchase. Your shipping and e-mail information is captured and archived for use by The Laughing Cabin. Though we have access to your shipping and e-mail information, we do not use it for solicitation, nor do we sell it or share it without anyone else.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, either through Etsy or PayPal your credit data is stored. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

For some sales transactions such as for custom orders or customer convenience, The Laughing Cabin will provide a clickable invoice through PayPal collects your financial information for the purposes of the transaction. The Laughing Cabin will collect your shipping information and e-mail address for purposes related to the transaction. After the transaction is processed, your information is no longer kept, shared or sold by The Laughing Cabin.


How do you get my consent?

When you provide The Laughing Cabin or with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
